The Prodigal Daughter finished off the last night of her tour of Scotland with a wicked show at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh. With the crushing defeat of Celtic FC in the UEFA Cup finals the night before, Eddi was brimming with national pride while the crowd was brimming with MacEwan's 8. And while the singalongs are a little slurred, a great time was had by all. Singing the lore and songs of Scotland's prodigal scallywag, Robert Burns, as well as some of her most loved tunes, Eddi truly shown before her countrymen. The highlight from this recording is Eddi singing John Douglas'\r\n(of Trash-Can Sinatras fame), WILD MOUTAINSIDE...a song about the prodigal daughter coming home to Scotland...how PERFECT! Like Springsteen in Jersey, McCartney in Liverpool or Colin Reid in Northern Ireland, the home field advantage truly did bring out the best in Eddi's game. As our first trip to Scotland, both musically and personally, we discovered firsthand the wonders of the north...Eddi Reader amongst the Edinburghers is not to be missed. P.S. -- If you happen to be a FC Celtic fan, there is a secret treat in Eddi's rendition of PERFECT.\r\n\r\n***Thanks to all the fun staff at the Queen's Hall who kept us irrigated and showed us a great time***
